We couldn't leave without breakfast from the Seiad Cafe and we were lucky enough to see 2 other hikers attempt the Pancake Challenge.
As you probably suspected Texas Chill (pictured above) did not complete the infamous Pancake Challenge and will have enough pancake left-overs to last at least until his next resupply. Unfortunately he had to delay hitting the trail. Climbing 4500' over 8 miles on a full stomach is not a good idea.
Gone Fishing and I hit the trail and although it was hot as we climbed to 7000' the temperatures cooled and the scenaria was beautiful. We found yet another fabulous campsite with views of Mt Shasta, green hillsides and mountains all around us.
On Tuesday we hiked 20 miles reaching the Oregon Border and the 1700 mile marker.
Several Hikers were at the border celebrating. Ooops arrived before we did and left candy and a note hanging from a bush.
We brought along an apple which Gone Fishing wrapped in a cold cloth and put in the middle of his pack. It was nice and cold and we congratulated one another as we devoured our reward.
